If you like to switch between macOS and Linux distros a lot you can try out kinto.sh so your terminal keymaps will stay consistent. (It is not a simple key remap, it’ll dynamically fix your keys for you based on the app you are using.)

It is also not intercepting keys either, apps like autokey I find to be a bit slow and buggy at times.
